Enrique Mesones
President & CEO

Enrique Mesones has been working as Executive Recruiter since 1999 after spending several years leading the Operations and HR Department in Latin America for a Multinational Retail Company. As the President of Smart Connections Inc., Enrique leads business development for the firm and works on senior level searches around the globe. His searches span many industries and include Aviation, Consumer Products, Education, Financial and Professional Services, Software, Technology & Telecommunications, Media, Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices, Management Consulting, and others.

Enrique is an expert in Diversity. He has worked on multiple searches as part of Multicultural and Diversified Business Development Initiatives. Enrique is also an authority in Internet research and has developed strategic programs on effectively working with senior management and C level executives.

Enrique's professional experience also includes experience in Marketing and Sales in Latin America for Multinational Pharmaceutical Companies such as Eli Lily and Smithkline Beecham.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics, School of Economics from University of Lima, Peru. He holds diplomas in Human Resources Management, Marketing Strategy and Administration. Bilingual: English & Spanish.

Suzanne Roberta
Director Global Strategy

Suzanne has over thirteen years of experience in emerging business start up, international product and brand development, marketing, intellectual asset development, change management, business valuation, private equity and venture capital. Her expertise spans the healthcare, medical technology, bio-tech, intellectual property, consumer products and media industries.

She specializes in business planning with an emphasis on global branding and positioning, product development, go-to-market strategy and investor due diligence. Her focus is in working with entrepreneurs and corporate venture groups to launch new ventures, expand in global markets and create product/ brand extensions. She has assisted clients in raising over $10 million in private equity and venture capital funds.

Suzanne has held senior level managerial positions in the venture capital, medical device, media and consumer products industries including Founder and Principal Strategy Consultant with Venture Vue, LLC, Vice President of Global Strategy with Alare Capital Partners, Director of Business Development with Citadel Broadcasting Corporation, Regional Marketing Director with R.P. Scherer and Product Development Specialist with Kolmar Laboratories Worldwide.

She holds an MBA in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, a BS in Information Technology from the University of Phoenix and an AS in Marketing from the Art Institute of Philadelphia. She has studied internationally in China, Mexico and France and holds advanced certificates from Thunderbird in Global Finance and French Language and Culture.

Suzanne has served on the board of directors for Women in Technology International, was a co-founder of the Alliance of Technology and Women and served as Chapter Ambassador and Advisory Board member. She is a member of the Thunderbird Private Equity Alumni Council, a judge in the Thunderbird Annual Business Plan Competition and former Chair of the Thunderbird Private Equity Venture Capital Forum. Additionally, she serves as an ambassador for Thunderbird’s Project Artemis; a program, which teaches women entrepreneurs in Afghanistan to develop new business ventures.

Helen Wood
Associate Director

Helen Wood is the newest member of the Smart Connections team. With an extensive background in media relations, international sales and marketing and creative research Helen brings a further dimension to our global organization.

Based in New York, Helen specializes in executive searches within the US and Australasia.

As the former VP of Cyg & Associates Inc and International Sales Director at IT-ComNet Japan, Helen has had over twelve years of experience as a line-producer, researcher and international sales director. Her work with NHK Japan Broadcasting Corporation has garnered several prodigious awards in the Japanese Television industry.

Educated at Geelong Grammar School, Trinity College, Melbourne University and Monash University, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Japanese language and culture. After graduating, Helen accepted a position from the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as lecturer in English studies at Iwasaki College, Yokohama, Japan where she received a citation from the City of Yokohama and the Japanese Ministry of Education for the excellence of the results she achieved.

Helen's extraorinarily well developed communication skills and diverse experience across a number of cultures provides her with a well-structured foundation to meet the needs of the clients of Smart Connections.

Eleonora Tinoco
Director - Business Valuation

Eleonora Tinoco is the valuation director of Smart Connections Inc. ("Smart Connections") in New York. Ms. Tinoco has been a business appraiser and corporate finance consultant for more than 10 years. Ms. Tinoco has being able to serve national and international clients with operations and assets located in North America, Central and South America, and Europe due to her bilingual skills.

Ms. Tinoco has supervised and performed a variety of valuation and consulting engagements including the valuation of business enterprises, business interests, and tangible and intangible assets for financial reporting, taxation and strategic purposes across a variety of industries including the energy, healthcare, media, telecommunications, sports/live entertainment, and retail industries.

Ms. Tinoco has a Bachelors degree in Economics from Florida International University and financial analysis and project management certifications from New York University. In addition, Ms. Tinoco has completed advanced valuation training including the American Society of Appraisers ("ASA") exams for certification as well as recent real option training. She is a candidate member of the ASA as well as a member of the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting in the New York City chapter.
