Ferne Traeger, MBA, LCSW, FIPA

Ferne Traeger is a career consultant, psychoanalyst, and educator in private practice. A Columbia Business School graduate, Ferne combines her experience in management consulting and corporate finance with her experience in the field of mental health. Her success in assisting individuals in managing career-related stress and making career/life decisions is the result of her combined expertise.

During the aftermath of 9/11, Ferne did part-time consulting for Project Liberty, coaching individuals who presented with symptoms that were linked to the advent of 9/11. She worked with many individuals who had been unemployed since 9/11, successfully assisting them in re-entering the workplace and finding positions that were "good fits." Many of these individuals continue to consult with Ferne.

Ferne utilizes an all-encompassing approach to career consulting. She becomes engaged in all facets of her clients' careers including resume writing, interviewing, and networking skills. She is always accessible between appointments, if necessary. Given the stresses associated with the pursuit of a high -powered career, clients appreciate her easy-going, down to earth and highly energetic manner, often describing her enthusiasm for her work as contagious.

Ferne is a member of The New York Freudian Society where she completed a postgraduate training program in psychoanalysis. She is also a member of The Institute for Psychoanalytic Training and Research ("IPTAR"). She is a Supervisor at both Training Institutes. She is a Faculty Member of the Psychoanalytic Training Institute of The New York Counseling Center. Other memberships include The Employee Assistance Professional Association ("EAPA"), The New York State Society for Clinical Social Work, The National Association of Social Workers and The Columbia Graduate School of Business Alumni Club.

Ferne received a B.A. in Psychology from The University of Pennsylvania, an MBA in Finance from Columbia University Graduate School of Business and an MSW from The New York University Shirley M. Ehrenkranz Graduate School of Social Work.

In order to accommodate her clientele, Ferne maintains offices on Manhattan's East and West Sides.
