Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) Certification
With the financial crisis still a recent memory, individuals and institutional investors seek advice from financial professionals they can trust. They look to advisors for competence, credibility, and expertise. Fortunately, a credential exists for financial professionals to communicate to clients that they are committed to providing objective investment advice and have the technical know-how to do it.
The Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) certification is the only credential of its kind for those who want to attain a high level of competency as an advanced investment consultant. Administered through the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA), the CIMA certification certifies that the CIMA professional has completed a rigorous process to achieve a high level of competency, professionalism, and investment expertise.
Chicago Booth Executive Education has been approved by IMCA to offer the educational component of the CIMA certification program. The Booth program leverages years of experience as the exclusive provider of IMCA’s Certified Private Wealth Advisor (CPWA) certification. It also combines the expertise of leading Booth finance faculty, several of whom recently designed groundbreaking investable indexes for the Center for Research in Security Prices and who continue to blend academic theory with real-world relevance.
During this program, you will learn to:
- Make portfolio recommendations based on modern portfolio theory and post-modern portfolio theory
- Develop and recommend an investment policy for a client (individual or institutional)
- Analyze performance measurement and recommend the selection of managers
- Analyze and recommend specific investments
- Analyze ethical and legal implications
The CIMA certification program requires that candidates meet all eligibility requirements, including experience, education, examination, and ethics. Before attending the Chicago Booth program, there are two steps that you must complete first through IMCA:
1) Submit the CIMA Certification Program Application, fee, and undergo a background check
2) Pass the Qualification Examination
If you have completed these steps and are ready to register for the educational component at Chicago Booth, please complete the registration form on this site.
If you have not begun the CIMA certification process or would like more information about IMCA's advanced certification qualifications, please contact IMCA directly at +1.303.770.3377 or visit their website at www.imca.org
